Blais Releases his Heartbeat

What do you get when you cross the gritty vocals reminiscent of Matthew Good with a solid rock beat backed by blazing guitars and a bluesy soul? If you show up at the Republik on Saturday night, you’ll find your answer in the form of Calgary’s own Matt Blais.

Blais is kicking up his heels to showcase his new ten-track album, The Heartbeat, before it’s official release on February 26th. You may have already heard a bit of the new release: the first single, Running, has been playing on the local airwaves. Blais’ previous release was Let It Out in 2010.

Plans are in the works for a cross Canada tour, but no dates have been announced yet.

Opening the show will be the 90.3 Amp Radio 2013 Rockstar Trinity Bradshaw and fellow Calgarians DangerFloyd.

The show starts at 9pm at the Republik; tickets are $20 at Prime Box Office or, if you’re lucky, at the door. Everyone in attendance will also get an advance copy of The Heartbeat, making this one Friday night that you can’t afford to miss. Check the details on Facebook.
